Our 7 Step
Farming Practice
Step #1
Soil Preparation
For optimum germination, hemp seed requires good seed-to-soil contact. Each individual crop has specific needs and conditions necessary to produce a most successful harvest. These include soil conditioning, tilling, irrigation methods, nutrition and fertilizers.
Step #2
Seed Germination
Germinating seeds is one of the most thrilling and yet intimidating stages. That tiny sprouted root is covered with microscopic filaments that are easily damaged. Each seed is hand crafted from the start by the use of water, heat, and air in a germination tank to prepare for planting.
Step #3
Transplanting
Planting typically falls between the third week of May and into the first week of June. The seedings are planting in raised beds with inlay drip irrigation and covered with plastic mulch. In general, the plants grow at an incredibly fast rate for the first 60 days.
Step #4
Crop Maintence
Hemp has high nutrient and water demands and is a very labor-intensive crop. During vegetation and flowering, labor includes proper watering, weeding, trimming excess leaves, checking for pests, and applying nutrients.
Step #5
Testing
Each hemp crop must be tested by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, pass the THC Test, and have an issued Fit For Commerce certificate prior to transferring ownership of the crop.
Step #6
Hung Drying
Drying and Curing Hemp is an art in itself. Our Hemp plants are hung upside down to dry before they are shucked and trimmed for production.
Step #7
Hand Harvesting
To provide the highest quality CBD product we hand harvest each plant. Harvesting is a very labor intensive step as we cut each plant, pick it out of the field, and haul it to the drying facility where it is hung to dry.

THISTLE AND HEMP ONLY SHIPS WITHIN THE UNITED STATES. All orders are shipped in double bags. The first is a re-sealable mylar bag that is then commercially sealed. We then ship out in generic (brown) bags. Very discreet. We ship all orders with test results and NOTICE TO LAW ENFORCEMENT letter. No invoice is included.
We ship all packages according to customers shipping method requests (Priority vs. Standard). Standard and Free shipping are the same delivery times.
